Through the prophet Isaiah God said I will also make you a light for the nations, to be my salvation to the ends of the earth Isaiah 49:6. We believe that God has called all Christians to be a light to the nations. We do this by following the Great Commission Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age Matthew 28:19-20.

At Amelia we believe that God has called us to take the Gospel to those who have not yet heard. We are committed to doing all that God calls us to do to advance the Kingdom of God on earth, and show the lost how they can have new life in Jesus Christ.

We are involved in missions in a few different ways:

​

• ​We regularly pray for the spread of the Gospel to all people groups and for those who are giving their lives to see that happen.

​

• We regularly send mission teams to share the Gospel in Ukraine with Michael Gott International (MGI). In 2019 we took three trips! Plans for 2020 include trips to Kyiv, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Lviv.

​

Due to COVID-19 our spring and summer mission trips to Ukraine had to be cancelled. Instead, God made it possible for us to be a part of 3 virtual mission trips in 3 different cities (June 22-27 in Kremenchuk, July 6-11 in Lviv, July 27-Aug 1 in Bila Tserkva).
 

• We support our members who are called to go on various other mission trips, both international and within the United States, e.g. to New Orleans or Guatemala.

• We support financially:

  • international missions through giving to the International Mission Board (IMB) of the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC)

  • ​national missions through giving to the North American Mission Board (NAMB)

  • and on more local level by giving to the Southern Baptists of Texas Convention (SBTC), and to the Golden Triangle Baptist Network (GTBN)
